Photo Challenge 2012 -February Installment

Here's my second installment of the 2012 Photography Project.  

The theme for February was "Black and White Photography".  When I originally took the first three photos earlier this month, I knew they were the ones I wanted to use for the project.  They were practically black and white before I even converted them.  Often I prefer colour photography, but I think in this case, the contrast of the black and white helps to capture the moment.  A quiet winter morning.  

This last photo I just couldn't resist.

Photo Challenge 2012

After getting my new camera at the beginning of the month, I decided I'd give Insert Metaphor and An Offering of Love's 2012 Photography Project a try. 

January's theme was "you /self-portraits /home".  I didn't take any photos of myself, but I did walk around our place, trying to capture some of the things that make it feel like "home" to me... small treasures, books, art, warm light, cozy places.
